Put the Backs of Your
Business Cards to Work
by Rena Larrañaga
Feb. 16, 2002
How many times have you handed
a potential customer your business card, then watched them turn
it over to look at the back? If there is nothing printed on the
back of your card, you're missing a marketing opportunity.
Here are some ideas for the
back of your card:
- Print your web address again
for emphasis.
- Offer a discount. "Present
this card for 10 percent off."
- Give a detailed list of your
products or services.
- Print lines for notes. Then,
as you hand your card to a potential customer, personalize it
with, "Jan, call me about our new left-handed screwdrivers."
- Include handy reference information
that your clients will use regularly. This keeps your card in
front of them many times. For example, toll-free airline reservation
numbers, tip charts, metric conversions, etc.
You don't have to print new
cards to take advantage of this marketing tip. Just print your
message on address labels and stick to the back of your cards.
This way you can change your message to fit your needs.
